Zeta Xi Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa (Tri-Kappa)1/11/2009
Tri Kappa was formed in 1901 by several young ladies attending May Wright Sewall's Girls Classical School in Indianapolis.  They decided to form a fun organization that would allow them to spend time together.  The organization might have a secret password, officers, slight dues, and a few rules.  Of the eight members, Beryl Showers of Bloomington was the only one who returned to school in the fall.  Showers revived the organization with six other girls.  They met on February 22, 1901 where Tri Kappa was officially organized.  To assure that Tri Kappa would continue beyond their school years, each member was to start a chapter in her hometown.  From that small group, grew an entire organization that today has many active chapters and associate chapters.  The Zeta Xi chapter was organization in Remington on March 31, 1967.
The local chapter meets monthly the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7 PM.  The group helps CHAPS, Cheer Guild, Community Ambulance, Crisis Center, Fire Department, Food Pantry, Habitat for Humanity, Hospice, Riley Children's Hospital, Remington/Wolcott Library, Youth Baseball and Soccer.
